In our module „interactive motion media II“ we worked in cooperation with the President of the „University of Applied Sciences Osnabrueck“. We were tasked to take mundane Data concerning the University and find a interactive way to consume said data.

This it the prototype, where we used a playstation eye camera to track the stones via the reactable-software, the processing and animations were done with the „Processing“ IDE.

In our research we found that the University had a incredibly large array of services of which most students knew nothing - and some of these services were especially helpful for students just getting started. So we created a concept of an interactive Table on which students could place a stone which represented themselves (persona-stone), and then they can place different other stones that represent categories the students could be interested in (for example finances and culture). The closer a category stone is to the persona stone, the more importance it is given by the system.

Some category stones

While the user places the category stones next to the persona stone, the table filters the services and displays them for the user.
